When I was a child, Christmas Eve was magical. After a feast fit for a king and a quick drive around town to look at all of the Christmas lights on display, we’d gather around the glow of the Christmas tree with a plate of my mother’s Christmas cookies and a present in front of each of us kids. It was always the same thing: pajamas. Usually cotton, a two-piece long sleeve and pant set with our favourite Disney character printed across it. Pink cuffs for my sister, green for me. We’d change into our new jammies, grab some blankets, and pile onto the couch with our parents to watch a Christmas movie before begrudgingly heading off to bed for the rumoured arrival of Santa Claus.
