It is hard to believe that 2015 has come to an end, but we are ready to move onward to 2016! There is always something exciting about a new beginning and we have a good feeling you feel the same way. Here at NK iMODE, we wanted to share three tips to help you to a worry-free year.
1: Write All Your Thoughts and Tasks Down
One of the best ways to get organized and to pay attention to your thoughts is to write things down on paper. Keep a journal and pen handy by your bed and in your bag for all your thoughts. When we write things down, it is often like cleaning your mind, and clearing space for new ideas. In addition to putting down your thoughts and expressing yourself it is also a good way to make sure that your tasks will get done.
2: Stop Spinning
One of the reasons why we find ourselves worrying a lot is because we are often focused on our concerns. This can lead to a lot of worrying, stress, and overthinking. Everything in our minds is spinning and you need to take the time to relax your mind. A good way to do this is to switch your focus from distress and doubt to something positive in your life or someone else. Take time to breathe, this helps to take your mind away from whatever is bothering you at that moment or spinning your thoughts out of control.
3: Take Control & Stay Present
Use mindfulness to be aware of your thoughts, feelings, body sensations, and surroundings. When you find yourself wandering into the past, or the future worrying or day dreaming, take control by staying present. How do you do that? Ask yourself these five questions: What do you hear, taste, see, smell and feel? This will remind you to be present in the now and in control of your thought process.
